Hardness Testing Method for Steel Strip
Strip steel includes cold-rolled strip, bright strip, stainless steel strip, galvanized steel strip, tin-plated steel strip, etc. These strip steel products must be annealed after cold rolling, and most products must be annealed according to the degree of annealing and hardness.
Different subsequent processing requires the use of strip materials with different hardness levels. The detection of annealing hardness is of great significance in the production and use of these strip steel products.
In the past, the hardness test of strip steel required taking samples from the strip coil and sending them to the laboratory for hardness testing. This method is cumbersome, time-consuming and far from the site.
Portable Rockwell hardness testers and surface Rockwell hardness testers are easy to use on the factory floor. It does not require sampling or vertical stressing. It can be tested directly next to the steel strip coil or annealing furnace, and can be directly tested at the material warehouse or sales site. A test only takes 10 seconds. Its measurement accuracy is the same as the benchtop Rockwell hardness tester. The adoption of this instrument will bring great convenience to the production, sales and use units of strip steel.
The W-BB75 portable Webster hardness tester supplied by iqualitrol is a more convenient hardness testing instrument. It can quickly test the hardness of moving strip steel products on the production line. The testing process only requires 1 second, although the resolution of this instrument is not high, it can meet the requirements for determining the strip hardness qualification and hardness level. The use of this instrument is of great significance for strip processing.
